Stricture of the urethra extending from near the orifice about an inch along the canal. Behind the contraction the urethra is dilated into a sac capable of holding a walnut. The bladder in the extent state was intensely inflamed. The lining membrane was of a deep red colour and covered with ecchymosid spots. Catalogue page 615'.

In this case lithotrity had been performed several times, the drawing shows the fragments into which the stone was broken (ammonium magnesium phosphate with phosphate of lime) the bladder was contracted & intensively inflamed & the kidneys contained numerous small abscesses. The orifice of the urethra was contracted. The patient, a man of very unhealthy and broken constitution, dies with the symptoms of acute cystitis'.
